Minds dont work until theyre opened True or False?

Umm false. Minds work all the time - the issue is whether it is working correctly or not.

The just cracking the door open is still opened but its only a slight step toward full correct use of the mind. One has to open the door all the way.Minds dont work until theyre opened True or False?
False.

I think you're confusing a necessary condition with a sufficient one. Most minds do need to be at least a little open (to discussion, debate, or evidence) in order to work well, but meeting the *need* is no guarantee the mind will work well.

People don't have to make sense. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it. You can present all the neat arguments in the world, physical evidence by the ton, and yet....if a mind is only open to *some* things the person will refuse to be convinced, persuaded, or to even *consider* that your point of view is right.

It's like this. People by and large *cannot* be completely close-minded to science and technology and still use the internet. That is just a given, wouldn't you agree? You have to believe in, or understand, the idea that electricity and telephones and electronic computing, that all of these things are *good things*. I'm not talking necessarily about *understanding* these things: I am talking about accepting them as a part of a modern lifestyle. There has to be some openness to the technology at least, and the working science that backs it up, in order to have any willingness to use it.

It's on a par with needing to know how to *read* to really understand the worth of a library. Wouldn't you agree? It's a basic, minimum sort of requirement.

And yet....we get people, just on Yahoo Answers, *every day* from all corners of the planet, who steadfastly *refuse* to believe in the correctness of the Scientific Method, the *same one* that proves that computing works and that electricity works and that *telephones and dial-up modems* are possible mind you, they refuse to consider that Science might be *true as well* when it comes to a) natural selection, b) the origins of mankind, and c) the origins of the Earth and life upon it.

It's a case of a mind being a *very little* bit open, but only in a very narrow and selective sense. The openness is there, it is *necessary* for the person to *function*, but it isn't *sufficient* to get that person, once on the internet (or anywhere else), to actually *think* and consider other points of view as valid.

I hope this helps, and thanks for your time! ^_^Minds dont work until theyre opened True or False?
Minds open by learning (watch a child). They stop learning when they're closed (look at fundamentalists of any kind). So then they stop working, and merely repeat learned tricks. Sad, but common.
False... Some of the hardest working people I know are closed minded. Look at Jerry Falwell.
False.

';True or false.'; one word answer. the other guy whose answer was, ';false'; can share 50% of the prize with me.
False
i mind works constantly

when it is opened to all possibilites

is when it thrives
True. In order to work and think, you must have options to think about. That requires an open mind. Even just a little bit open causes one to think. A closed mind thinks it has the answer already without thinking.
