How was the St. louis arch built? What kind of false work did they use? What is its purpose?

This is for a paper so be specific. How was the St. louis arch built? What kind of false work did they use? What is its purpose?
Here is a great place to research for your answer. There are alot of historian links included. I have personally been to the Arch and its sure something to see and the view is great.

Hope it helps.

The St. Louis Gateway Arch was built with stainless steel which rises up 630 feet and has a 60 foot foundation with a ground level of 630 feet as well. Arch bridges such as this used metal or wooden falsework (one word). The Arch used metal falsework so that it could sustain winds.
If this is for a paper, why are you asking on here? What makes you think you're going to get accurate information? What do you think you are going to site as your references?
