LT1 Is correct, several other issues fall into play. Did this false report aid in the commission of another crime? Did the false report result in illegal profit for you? Did the false report deter the Police from an ongoing investigation? Lying to the law is going to catch up with you. Quit hanging around with losers.
Depends on the state, but where I am, It's called ';Making a False Declaration/Statement';, and if the falsehood reported was purported to be a felony, then it's a felony.
